PP (Polypropylene) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer produced by the addition polymerization of propylene.Typically appearing as white semi-transparent granular solids, it has a low density of about 0.90-0.91 g/cm³, making it one of the lightest common plastics. Renowned for its balanced mechanical properties-including tensile strength, hardness, and exceptional resistance to bending fatigue-PP also offers good thermal stability, with a melting point of 160-166°C, allowing long-term use at 100-120°C. Chemically, it resists acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and most organic solvents, though its weather resistance is poor, prone to aging under prolonged UV exposure. Excellent processability via injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding enables its wide application in packaging (food containers, films), automotive industry (bumpers, interior parts), medical devices (syringes, infusion bottles), and daily products (basins, buckets, fiber items). Modified versions like glass fiber-reinforced PP or copolymer PP further expand its utility in high-end sectors.,
