Product Description
Polypropylene
Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer made from propylene monomers through addition polymerization. It is usually a white waxy solid, non-toxic, odorless, transparent in appearance and light in texture. Its chemical formula is (C3H6)n, with a density of 0.89 to 0.92 g/cm ³, making it the thermoplastic resin with the lowest density. The melting point is 164 to 176 ℃, and it softens around 155℃. The operating temperature range is -30 to 140 ℃. Polypropylene features light weight, wear resistance, antibacterial properties and easy dyeing, and is widely used in fiber products such as clothing and blankets. It has excellent insulation performance and is used to manufacture the shells and components of products such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and televisions. It has excellent chemical stability, heat resistance, transparency and mechanical properties, and is used in the manufacture of medical devices. It has excellent corrosion resistance, weather resistance and plasticity, and is used in the manufacture of building and building materials products, etc.

Advantages
Modified PP plastic is a material that optimizes the performance of ordinary polypropylene by adding fillers, reinforcing agents, toughening agents, flame retardants and other additives or through chemical methods such as blending and copolymerization. 
1. Mechanical property enhancement 
High strength and high rigidity: By adding glass fiber, carbon fiber or mineral fillers (such as talcum powder, calcium carbonate), the tensile strength, flexural modulus and impact resistance of PP can be significantly improved, making it suitable for structural components. 
Toughening and impact resistance: Adding elastomers (such as POE, EPDM) or thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) can improve the low-temperature brittleness of PP, making it more durable in scenarios such as automotive bumpers and home appliance casings. 
 
2. Improved heat resistance and high-temperature stability
By adding heat-resistant additives (such as glass fiber) or blending with heat-resistant polymers, the heat deflection temperature (HDT) of modified PP can be raised from 60 to 80 ° C of ordinary PP to over 120 ° C, making it suitable for high-temperature environments (such as electronic components and peripheral parts of automotive engines). 
 
3. Enhanced chemical and weather resistance
Anti-aging: Adding ultraviolet absorbers or antioxidants can improve the weather resistance of PP and extend its outdoor service life (such as photovoltaic brackets, outdoor furniture).
Corrosion resistance: It has stronger resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents and other chemical substances, and is suitable for chemical containers, pipelines, etc. 
 
4. Diversified functions
Flame retardancy: By adding flame retardants (such as brominated, phosphorus-based or halogen-free flame retardants), the UL94 V0 flame retardant standard can be achieved, and it is used in electronic appliances and fireproof materials for buildings. 
Conductive/antistatic: By adding carbon black, metal fibers or conductive polymers, anti-static or electromagnetic shielding materials can be made (such as packaging, electronic device casings). 
Wear resistance: By adding lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide and graphite, the coefficient of friction is reduced, making it suitable for moving parts such as gears and sliders. 

5. Processing performance optimization
Improved fluidity: By regulating molecular weight or adding lubricants, modified PP is easier to injection mold and extrude, making it suitable for complex-shaped products. 
Dimensional stability: Reduce shrinkage rate and warpage deformation, and improve product precision (such as thin-walled packaging, precision parts).
 
6. Lightweight and cost advantage
Low density: PP itself has a low density (0.9 to 1.1 g/cm³), and after modification, it still maintains lightweight characteristics, which is superior to metals or other engineering plastics. 
Cost-effectiveness: By filling with inexpensive mineral fillers (such as talcum powder), raw material costs can be reduced while maintaining performance balance. 
 
7. Environmental adaptability
Recyclability: Modified PP still retains the recyclability property, and some formulations support biodegradability (such as adding starch-based materials).
