Polypropylene (PP) is a versatile semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer crafted from propylene monomers through addition polymerization. Typically appearing as a white waxy solid, it is non-toxic, odorless, and lightweight with a transparent appearance. Its chemical formula is (C3H6)n, boasting a density of 0.89 to 0.92 g/cm³, the lowest among thermoplastic resins. Its melting point ranges from 164 to 176 ℃, with softening at about 155℃, and operates between -30 to 140 ℃. Known for its lightweight and durable properties, PP is antibacterial and easily dyed, being widely utilized in fiber products like clothing and blankets. Its excellent insulation makes it ideal for manufacturing the shells and components of products like refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and TVs.
